Join us for the 27th annual Shop Hop on Thursday, December 5!

On this special evening only, Uptown businesses pull out all the stops to offer an extra festive holiday shopping experience starting at 3pm.

Merriment includes free trolly rides between districts, streetside entertainment, and surprises guests and goods all night long. Shop Hop is a great way to knock out that shopping list with memorable gifts that will support the livelihoods of local and independent makers and businesses, right here at home.

The rink is open daily through February 22.  Regular operating hours and any weather-related changes to those are posted on the Rosa Parks Ice Rink Facebook page, at grandrapidsmi.gov/skating and on the closure hotline at 616-456-3699.

Admission prices for the 2024-2025 season are as follows:

Adults (18 and up): $6 (includes skate rental)
Youth (17 and under): $3 (includes skate rental)

For frequent visitors, a punch card is available at the rink after December 5.  Additionally, skaters can plan their visit in advance with 50 reserved spots available for each skating session (limit six skaters per reservation). A reservation allows priority access before walk-up traffic during the reservation arrival window. Online reservations will open on Monday, Dec. 2, check grandrapidsmi.gov/skating for details & updates.

The City of Grand Rapids officially kicks off the holiday season on Saturday, Dec. 7 with the annual Christmas tree lighting. The all-ages event is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. along Monroe Center St. NW, between Monroe Ave. NW and Ottawa Ave. NW, near the Grand Rapids Art Museum. This year’s event includes free treats, a variety of family activities, arts and crafts, and free giveaways.

Join us for a night of board game fun! The library will provide a variety of games for community members, families, and friends to play. Attendees are welcome to bring their own board games. This free event series is designed for all ages. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
